We Need You

Cowes Sailability Club is appealing for more volunteers to come forwards to help the charity organise and run sailing and boating activities for people with disabilities on the Isle of Wight.

Cowes Sailability Club has launched a campaign to encourage more volunteers to get involved in providing sailing and boating activities for adults and children who have physical disabilities, learning disabilities or debilitating long-term medical conditions. The club is keen to welcome enthusiastic people with a wide range of skills and experiences not just in sailing and boating, but also in administration, health & safety and event organisation.

“Cowes Sailability Club provides amazing experiences for people with disabilities, enabling them to participate in activities on the water and have a lot of fun,” says Judy Wyatt, Commodore of Cowes Sailability Club. “But we can’t do this without the help of our wonderful team of volunteers who give up their time to put smiles on the faces of people who face daily challenges.”

She adds, “We need more people to come forwards to help us plan for the next sailing season, fundraise and organise events. Whatever your experience, please get in touch if you can spare any time to help us.”

Key positions that are currently vacant include Vice Commodore (sailing), Vice Commodore (motor boating), Honourable Secretary, Membership Administrator, Events Administrator and Health & Safety Administrator.
